At least two people have been killed and scores wounded in a large explosion that rocked a governor's office in Turkey.

The blast occurred in the car park outside the office of Gov Mahmut Demirtas in the southern city of Adana on Thursday morning
The governor survived the blast and told Turkish media a bomb-laden vehicle was detonated near the entrance of the building.

Mr Demirtas said the licence plate of the bombing suspect's car had been identified, adding: "It is suspected that a female suspect carried out the attack."

It was not immediately clear if any individual or group had claimed responsibility for the bombing.
